Supreme Court Decision

Corporations have been given the right to use their money to support political parties. I don’t feel like I can fully take a stance on either side because I am not in this situation. I understand the opinions of both sides and why they feel so strongly on this. It is hard to say that a corporation should or shouldn’t have the same rights as an individual person because they have so many people and laws to back them up. Should they have free speech like the rest of us? Should a corporation be able to give money to a political party they favor? They might say they’re helping the individual, but in actuality the voters will be persuaded to follow that corporations “donation.” Should we put a limit on how a corporation decides to spend their money? It’s their money and they deserve the right to do as they please with it.

  1. i agree with what you are saying expect i do not think that they should have the same rights as us. I do though think i need to research more since it is a new decision and i do not have enough background information to make a very valid point so i think it is very respectful that you do not have a stand on either side. You made some very good points and ask some great questions throughout your blog.

  2. me too. I haven't watch news lately and its really hard for me to really get the concept. But for me, i don't really agree with corporations having the same rights as individuals have.It is true that corporations are free to spend their money in any way that they want to but not to the extent of getting involved with the politics.
